Lycopene (the Botanical) by itself helps to protect the skin from UVA damage - that is the environmental factors that can cause sun damaged to the skin.
Sunburn is caused by UVB rays of the sun and you need a cream that has a SPF Factor to protect your skin.
The Lycopene Skin Cream mentioned above has UVA protection of 5 stars. This is the European system to gauge protection. It is rated from one to five stars. It also has a UVB protection of SPF 16 to protect from sun burn.
To accomplish this with other creams you would have to put a Hydrating Face Cream on first (with or without Lycopene) and then put the Sun Protection Cream on afterward. Remember if your "regular" face cream does NOT have Lycopene (preferably natural Lycopene) then there is no protection offered from the UVA rays of the sun and other environmental damage.
Do I still need to use sunscreen if I am using the lycopene? I have a tendency to sunburn very easily.
